Many have been interested in the almost romantic collapse of different societies — the Anasazi, the Fertile Crescent society, and especially the Mayans.
Archeologists have pointed out the environmental problems that caused these collapses. Some societies, though, are more fragile than others. Why is that?
Clearly there’s no single factor that causes collapse. What can we learn from past societies to prevent our own from collapsing?
