Could Telomerase, an enzyme, be used to stop and reverse aging?

It’s not the fountain of youth but it is a step forward. DNA is like a shoelace. It has plastic tips at the end. Every time a cell reproduces, the tips of the DNA fray — until finally they break. A cell can only divides 60 times before death.

Maybe telomerase could help a normal cell. But cancer cells are immortal. And if you use telomerase, you would have to be sure you don’t trigger cancer.
