Tiananmen analogies are a barrier to understanding what’s really going on, in Hong Kong says Peter Lee, Journalist for the Asia Times Online.

Peter Lee offers the most nuanced and perspicacious Western view on the burgeoning Hong Kong Pro-Democracy movement publicly offered, thus far.

Lee has no dog in this race. He seems to have become quite Chinese in his worldview, which is fascinating, in itself.

In my view, the recent events in Hong Kong are yet another fulfillment Brzezinski’s playbook, ‘The Grand Chessboard.’ To attack China through its soft, more Westernized underbelly.

While most believed that the original, June 4th demonstrations were spontaneous and not Astro-Turf, it turns out, that these were fueled and funded by the CIA, according to officials in the Western media.

It’s clear that Obama’s people (or whoever put himthere – you know what I mean!) aren’t going to leave a stone unturned, for the 26 months he got left.

Whether the PRC will make any concessions or not remains the 64 million dollar question.
