Plants, as well as their leaves, are nature’s solar panels. Photosynthesis’ first steps are to make sunlight into electrical, which then goes into the processes of life. Could we hijack the abilities of plants in order to generate electricity for humanity?

Could the raw material for a solar panel be made from trash? What if you could take your green trash, extract the relevant proteins, stabilize those proteins to keep them functionally “alive.” MIT researchers have made this process reachable to have photovoltaics.
