Dan Pink says that our motivations are really quite interesting. We are not as endlessly manipulable as you might think.
If we reward behavior, do we get more of it? If you punish something, does that deter a behavior? Not necessarily. Corporate America has much to learn.
It turns out that if your job requires even rudimentary cognitive skill, larger rewards lead to poorer performance.
