After initially claiming they were unavailable, Rupert Murdoch and son, James have agreed to testify in British Parliament on Tuesday July 19th, along with former News of the World Executive, Rebekah Brooks, who resigned late last week. The hearing will look into the criminality of one of their newspapers.
US Senator Jay Rockefeller (D) West Virginia told CNN on-camera, “It is really repugnant that one man can control so many.” When asked by CNN if had any specific information whether FoxNews had hacked the telephones of 9/11 victims, Sen. Rockefeller said, “We will find out.”
The FBI has launched an investigation of News Corp in the US and Australian law enforcement has launched their own investigation into wrong-doing by Murdoch-owned news outlets there.
