March 8 was International Women’s Day and flight AF438 took off from Paris for Mexico with an all-female crew. This has become a yearly tradition at Air France, although flights operated by entirely by women do occur randomly throughout the year, depending on flight crew rosters, which are rotated for every flight.
Before departure, the pilots spoke behind the scenes about how they personally got into the field and why they think more young women should consider futures in commercial aviation.
