    a JOSE ESCAMILLA film

In tribute to our Native Americans and Natives worldwide. I wrote “Our Nations’ Spirits” in 1995. The Native Son is a theme I wrote for the film “Wolf Ridge” starring Wes Studi in 1994. I made this film in 1996, after finding photos of clouds depicting faces in the skies resembling Native Americans and animals of folklore. The original was lost somehow and I recently found the original photos in one of my computer archives I have in storage. I decided to remake it in HD and this is the end result.

In 1996, things were different than what they are today. I was moved by the quotes of some of the Great Chiefs of that era, whose words resonate sentiments and realities we are experiencing in present time.

My original inspiration to make music themes about Native Americans and this film, came from knowing Chief Standing Elk Golden Eagle, when I lectured at his Star Knowledge conferences in Estes Park, Colorado during the 1990’s.

I am honored to know him and friends I’ve met through him that I will always cherish for the rest of my life.

I will be at his next conference 11:11:11 – – Jose Escamilla
