Derby the dog was born with misshapen front legs, but advances in 3-D printing technology have made great-fitting prostheses more accessible and better-fitting than ever. Derby’s condition made caring for him a challenge for his family, who placed him in a shelter. Tara Anderson, a product manager at 3D Systems, adopted Derby and helped fashion a pair of new legs that allow him to sprint for the first time in his life.
