Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov answered a journalist’s question regarding possible provocations by Ukraine in the event of Ukraine’s possible detonation of a dirty nuclear bomb, saying:
“After yesterday’s telephone conversations between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his colleagues from France, Great Britain, Turkey, as well as with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, Russia took the necessary steps to raise the issue of the Ukrainian dirty nuclear bomb in international structures, primarily in the UN, in New York.
“We have information, specific information, about institutions and scientific institutions in Ukraine that have the technology to build this dirty bomb. We have information that we have cross-checked through the appropriate channels. This is not an empty suspicion. There are serious reasons to believe that such things may be planned by Ukraine.”
