Last Wednesday the small startup, Moon Express Inc. became the first commercial venture to get FAA approval to travel beyond Earth’s orbit. They are now a finalist to win an additional $30 million in the Google Lunar Xprize competition.
Moon Express CEO, Naveen Jain was a poor immigrant from India to the US at the age of 19 but found work as a computer programmer and eventually worked for big IT companies. He owns patents to the old MSN Windows 95 program from his work developing that once-ubiquitous software.
Jain’s joyful enthusiasm over his latest venture is infectious. He truly exemplifies what has and what will continue to make America great.
