From Academy Award® winning filmmaker, Charles Ferguson (‘No End In Sight’), comes ‘Inside Job,’ the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008. The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulted in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. Through extensive research and interviews with major financial insiders, politicians and journalists, ‘Inside Job,’ traces the rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships which have corrupted politics, regulation and academia. Narrated by Academy Award® winner Matt Damon, ‘Inside Job,’ was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.

Alexandra Bruce comment:

95% of all big budget ($100m+) Hollywood films are financed by JP Morgan.

50% of this film’s $2m-budget film was financed by its distributor, Japanese-owned Sony Pictures.

Described by it’s director, Chris Ferguson as being about “the systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption,” the film explores how changes in the policy environment and banking practices helped create the 2008 financial crisis.

Despite winning the Academy Award® for Best Documentary in 2011, this film is not getting the attention that it should. Unfortunately, this film is still too new for me to broadcast it in full (the filmmakers need to recoup their money!)

But as soon as I can, you’ll be the first to know! In the meantime, this trailer is excellent and this is a film worth renting, if you can’t wait…
